How to Center Text in Google Docs?

Here is the step-by-step process to center text in your Google document.

Step 1: Opening a New Document in Google Docs

From your web browser, open Google Docs by visiting this link - https://docs.google.com.

Then, to create a new document, click on Blank document as shown below.

As you click on Blank document, a new blank page will open where we will add some text and try to center it using the process detailed below.

Step 2: Adding Your Text in Google Docs

Now, simply position your cursor at the location where you intend to start typing your centered text.

After typing the text, select it.

Now, if you go to the Align option from the toolbar and select Central align (shortcut key: Ctrl+Shift+E on Window & Cmd+Shift+E on Mac), it will only center the text horizontally as shown below.

There is no straight forward option in Google Docs to center the text both horizontally as well as vertically.

As vertical centering is not a built-in feature in Google Docs, we can still achieve the effect using a workaround by creating a table.

First, create a 1x1 table by going to Insert >> Table and select a single cell as shown below.

Now, you need to add your text inside this single cell. Below, you can see that i have placed my text inside the cell.

After entering the text, either select the text or place the cursor inside the cell containing the text, and click on the Align option. Now, select Centre align to center the text inside the table as shown above.

Below you can see that my text entered inside the table is now centre-aligned.
