How to Print Double-sided on Google Doc
In this tutorial, I will be explaining two methods to print your Google Documents on both side of the paper.
And this can be achieved using a duplex printer as well as a non-duplex printer. So, even if you don't have a duplex printer, by following the method given below, you would be able to print to get your double-sided paper.
- Method 1: Printing using a Duplex Printer
- Method 2: Printing using a Non-Duplex Printer
Method 1: Printing Using a Duplex Printer
Step 1: Prepare and Open Your Document
First, open your document in Google Docs. Ensure that your content is complete and formatted as desired before proceeding to the printing stage.
Step 2: Access the Print Settings
Click on "File" in the top menu, then select "Print" from the dropdown menu. This will open the print settings dialog box (see the screenshot below). Alternatively, you can also use the keyboard shortcut - Ctrl + P on Windows (or Command + P on Mac devices).
In the above screenshot, you can see the print properties. Here, you can set the printing options such as Destination, Pages, Copies, and Color.
If you click on More settings, Google Docs will offer some additional printing options as shown below.
In the above screenshot, you can see that after clicking on the More settings option, you get some additional options for printing such as Page size, Pages per sheet, Margins, Quality (dpi), Scale and more.
After setting the options as per your requirements, make sure that you select the option - Print on both sides, if you're on your duplex printer.
Now, click on the blue Print button to start printing your content on both sides of your paper automatically.

Method 2: Printing Using a Non-Duplex Printer
Like Method 1, we would start with the same process. Step 1 and Step 2 are almost same. However, instead of automatic printing in case of duplex printer, we would print manually in our non-duplex printer.
Just follow the steps mentioned below
Step 1: Prepare and Open Your Document
First, open your document in Google Docs. Ensure that your content is complete and formatted as desired before proceeding to the printing stage.
Step 2: Access the Print Settings
From the menu, click on File and select Print. This will open the print settings dialog box as shown in the below screenshot.
Here, you are not required to click on More settings as we did in the case of printing using duplex printer.
Since, we're using a non-duplex printer to print on both sides of the paper, here, you need to choose your pages manually for both sides printing.
First, select Custom under Pages and enter your page numbers in odd numbers. For example, I have entered 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9 (see the above screenshot). Depending on the number of pages you want to print, enter the required numbers here.
Now, click on the Print button. This will print all the odd number pages. Now, move on to the next step.
Step 3: Print other side of the pages too
Now, you need to turn over your printed pages and feed them into your non-duplex printer so that the other sides can also be printed.
Again go to File and click on Print. Select Custom option under Pages and this time enter the page numbers in even numbers. Since, in the last step we had printed 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9. So, this time we would enter 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10.
Now, click on Print to get all the even number pages printed.
This is how you can get all your pages printed on both sides of your Google Docs document on a non-duplex printer.
