How to Add Comments in Canva

What is a Comment in Canva?

A comment in Canva is a built-in feature that allows you (or your team members) to leave feedback directly on a design. Instead of explaining changes separately, you can simply click on an element and write your suggestion.

Thus, a comment in Canva is a note or feedback you can attach to a specific part of your design. Think of it as a sticky note inside your project. It doesn’t affect the design itself but helps communicate ideas, corrections, or suggestions.

It works just like comments in Google Docs — but inside your design.

Example:

  • “Change this font to something more bold”
  • “Can we use a brighter color here?”
  • “Add logo on this corner”

Tips for Using Comments in Canva (Pro Tips)

Here are some practical tips that I personally use:

1. Be Clear and Specific

Instead of writing: ❌ “Fix this”, write: ✅ “Increase font size to 24px”

2. Use Tags Properly

Always tag the right person to avoid confusion.

3. Keep Comments Short

Short comments are easier to understand and act on.

4. Use Comments for Approval

You can ask: “Is this final?”, “Approved?”
