How to Build a Sales Funnel on Systeme.io
Now let’s build a complete funnel from scratch.
We will create a Lead Magnet Funnel, which includes:
- Step 1 → Opt-in page
- Step 2 → Thank-you page
- Step 3 → Email delivery
- Step 4 → Automation sequence
Let’s begin.
Step 1: Go to Funnels and Click “Create”
Inside your Systeme.io dashboard:
- Click Sites
- Click Sales Funnels
- Click Create
You’ll see options for:
- Build an audience
- Sell a product
- Custom funnel
- Run a webinar
Choose ✔ Build an audience (for a freebie funnel). See the screenshot below.
Step 2: Name Your Funnel
Now, you'll need to enter a name for your funnel. For example:
- “Free Ebook Funnel”
- “Checklist Lead Magnet Funnel”
- “Workshop Registration Funnel”
After entering the name for your funnel, select your domain:
- Use Systeme.io default domain, or
- Add your custom domain
In the above screenshot, you can see that:
- I have entered the name of my funnel as 'Free Ebook Funnel'.
- Selected Funnel domain as 'technicalwall.systeme.io'.
- And selected funnel goal as 'Build an audience'.
- Selected currency as 'US Dollar'.
After entering all the details as mentioned above, click on the Save button.
Step 3: Choose Your Funnel Template
Click on the funnel we just created to edit it and select a pre-built template for it. See the screenshot below.

To preview a template, hover the mouse over a template and click on Preview. It will open the template in a new window where you can check the details of the template.
After finalizing a template, select it to move to the next page where we will edit the template as per our requirements.
Step 4: Add Name (URL) for Your Opt-In Page
In the above screenshot, you can see that I have selected a template as my opt-in page where I will offer my ebook to my visitors. But before that, we will need to enter a name for our opt-in page.
In the screenshot below, you can see that I have replaced the default text with 'getting-started-with-systeme'. Now, the URL for my opt-in page would be:
'https://technicalwall.systeme.io/getting-started-with-systeme'.
Similarly, you should also enter a text relevant to your ebook for your opt-in page.
Now, we will edit our opt-in page template in Step 4.
Step 5: Edit Your Opt-In Page
Click on Edit page button as shown in the screenshot below.
After clicking the Edit page button, Systeme.io’s drag-and-drop builder will open. See the screenshot below.
Here, you can customize the logo, menu, text, images, button and background. On the left side of the builder, you can find many customizable elements like Text, Headline, Bulleted list, Content box, Image, Video, Audio, Carousel, Columns, and more. You can also set padding and margin as per your need.
Let's see an example. I will change the default image of the template with my own ebook cover.
Click on the image to select it. In the screenshot given below, I have selected the image of the book to replace it with my ebook cover. After selecting the image, click on the cloud icon as shown below.
A popup will appear asking you to upload an image.
Click on the option - 'click to upload'. See the screenshot above.
Below you can see that I have added an image as cover for my ebook. Click on Insert button to add the image to the template we're editing.
In the screenshot below, you can see that I have replaced the default image and added an ebook cover. To change text, click on the text element and add your text.
You can also add a headline or change the text of the button. Further, you can also add a logo, headlines/subheadline or change the background color or the font color, add testimonials, bullet points, benefits, countdown timers, etc.
Like any page editor, you can make changes to each element of the template.
In the screenshot below, you can see that I have made changes to the default opt-in page by adding my logo, menu, text and image. I have changed the color of the text as well as the button.
After making all the changes, click on Save button and then finally click on the Exit page button.
In the next step, we'll edit the Thank You page. It is the page where our user will land after they have entered their email address in the previous step.
Step 6: The Thank-You Page
After collecting the email, visitors should land on a Thank-You Page.
This page should include:
✔ A friendly message
“Thanks! Your freebie is on its way!”
✔ A link to check email inbox
Tell them to check their inbox for the download link.
✔ A Call-To-Action (optional)

Let's start creating the Thank You page. Click on the Thank You / Download Page as shown below. Next, select a template that you like
After selecting a thank you page template, enter a name for the Thank You page and then click on Edit page to edit this template. See the screenshot below.
Now, we're again in the Systeme.io drag-and-drop builder page. Similar to the Opt-in page, we will design this Thank You page.
In this page, we will add a download button so that our visitors should be able to download the free ebook directly from this page.
We will also send an email with the download link to our visitors. We will cover this in the later section.
You can see that I've again added a logo, ebook cover and some changes to the text relevant to my ebook.
Now, select the button as shown above and add your own text such as 'Download Now'. After making changes to the button text, we will add an action to this button.
Finally, click on the Save and then click on Exit page. Our Thank You page is now complete. Whenever a visitor lands on our Opt-in page and enter his email address, he will taken to this Thank You page. Here, he will be able to download the ebook to his computer.
However, this is not all, we will also send our subscribers an automatic email with the download link to the ebook. This way they will have permanent access to the free ebook. To do this, let's move on to the next step.
Step 7: Create the Email to Deliver the Freebie
In this step, we will deliver the free ebook to our subscriber's inbox. To do, click on Emails on the Systeme.io Dashboard and then click on Campaigns.
Now, click on 'Create'.
I have named the campaign: Systeme.io Guide Delivery and have selected the email address from which I will send my campaigns. Entering Description is optional. Now, click on the Save button. See the screenshot below.
Now, we will create our email campaign to send our free ebook automatically to our email subscribers. Select your campaign as shown below.
Click on the Create button.
Inside the campaign, enter your information. Below, I have shown one example. Check it out.
Subject: Your Free Ebook is Here!
Sender name: Deepak Choudhary
Sender email address: [email protected]
Choose between Visual editor and Classic editor. I prefer Classic as it offers a clean layout. Next, click on the Save button. See the screenshot below.
Enter the body of your email and also add a link to your free ebook. After adding the body text, click on Save and publish, to activate the email campaign.
After publishing the campaign, a popup will appear asking you to activate the campaign. Click on the Activate button as shown below.
That's it, your email campaign to deliver the free ebook is ready but it is not yet connected to the sales funnel we created in earlier steps.
In Step 7, we will learn how to connect an email campaign to a Sales Funnel to send email on automation to our email subscribers.
Step 8: Connect Email to the Funnel Using Automation
Go to your sales funnel and select the Opt-in Page and click Automation Rules.
Now, click on Add rule.
Click on the 'Plus' icon to add a trigger. See the screenshot below.
Next, select the option - Funnel step form subscribed.
As you click the option - Funnel step form subscribed, you'll see that your funnel (Free Ebook Funnel) and Funnel step (Thank You / Download Page) has been automatically selected. See the screenshot below.
Next, click on the 'Plus' button as shown below to add action to your trigger.
From the given options, select 'Subscribe to campaign'.
Here, we will select the campaign we had created earlier. Click 'Choose campaign' as shown below to select your campaign.
After selecting the campaign, click on the button - Save rule.
That's it, we have successfully added an automation rule in Systeme.io that will send an email automatically to users who have subscribed to our opt-in form to get the free ebook. On receiving this email, our subscribers will be able to download the ebook from the link given inside the email.
