How to Install WordPress from cPanel?
When you buy hosting plan from popular web host such as A2hosting you get an easy to manage cPanel.
What is a cPanel?
A cPanel is a fully featured web-based control panel which allows you to manage your domain through an easy-to-use web interface.
Using cPanel, you can manage your e-mail accounts, files, backups, SSL certificates, FTP, sub-domains, databases, CGI scripts, web site statistics, and much more.
Inside the cPanel you get an automated WordPress installation script installers, called Softaculous.
With the help of Softaculous you can easily install WordPress on your blog within few minutes.
Let's see how we can install WordPress from Softaculous.
Install WordPress From Softaculous
Once you login to your hosting account, select cPanel Login button to launch the cPanel. I have taken examples images (see below) from my A2hosting account.
Inside the cPanel, go to Softaculous App Installer and select WordPress A2 Optimized.
Now your WordPress installation will look like this.
Follow all the steps mentioned here carefully and within few minutes you will have a fully functional WordPress blog.
In the Choose Installation URL enter the name of your blog (i.e. domain name).
For example, my blog is technicalwall.com so I will enter the same in this field.
Then enter your site name and a little description about your blog. Don’t worry you can easily change them from your WordPress Dashboard after installation.
Now comes the important part.
Enter the Admin username and Admin password. I will recommend you to use a strong password for security of your blog.
Store this information safely. You will use this credentials to login to the WordPress dashboard.
Now enter email address in the admin email field. WordPress will send notifications and password reset link to this address if you ever forgot your password.
Rest of the options on the screen are optional.
Now, select the Install button (See the image given above).
Withing few minutes WordPress will be installed from cPanel and loaded into your blog.
When the installation is completed, you’ll see a screen listing the details of your newly created WordPress on cPanel installation.
It will also display a link for login to the WordPress dashboard. Save or bookmark this link. Use this link every time to login to the WordPress Dashboard.
How To Login To WordPress Dashboard?
Now your WordPress URL to login into the dashboard would be like this:
https://example.com/wp-admin/
Replace example by your domain name.
For my blog technicalwall.com, I would login to the WordPress Dashboard with the following URL:
https://technicalwall.com/wp-admin/
As shown in the above example, enter the similar URL for your blog in the address bar of Chrome Browser and press enter to login to WordPress Dashboard.
You will be asked to enter your WordPress username and password. Select the two Check Boxes as shown in the figure. After selecting Log In you will be taken to the WordPress Dashboard.
After successful login, your WordPress Dashboard would look like the image given below.

Inside the WordPress Dashboard, let' see what all we could do here:
- Posts: Write any article for your blog.
- Pages: Create any pages like About Me, Privacy Policy, Disclaimer, etc.
- Appearance: Here you can do multiple task like
(1) Uploading WordPress themes of your choice. Here, you can add, delete or replace any theme.
(2) Creating menus for your site
(3) Adding widgets to your sidebar
(4) Customizing your blog layout, font, background, etc. - Comments: Manage user comments.
- Plugins: Here you can add or delete plugins for your blog. When you start a blog, you should immediately install some essential plugins like UpdraftPlus, WPOptimize, RankMath, etc.
- Users: Manage users for your blog here.
- Settings: Here you can select your blog's front page, set permalinks, privacy, discussion, etc.
